Manny Pacquiao Vs. Adrien Broner: Fighters Relaxed And Confident In Final Training Before PPV Fight
Broner took to the gym to jump rope looking in great shape and fight ready. Broner was also all smiles and very relaxed as his team looked on. No different than I expressed last week and talking about the positive energy that surrounds both camps.
I would be lying if I told you this felt like a typical Vegas fight week. January is a tough month to promote a fight of this magnitude. Especially a Pacquiao fight. There’s usually frenetic energy that permeates through the hotel right up until the opening bell. It takes a special discipline and mental focus for fighters at the championship level to work through the holidays and new year preparing for such an important fight. It’s this very discipline that is most likely responsible for Pacquiao and Broner’s level of preparation both mentally and physically. It also speaks to the professionalism and how serious they have both taken their training camps.
In many cases, these types of fight weeks can be emotionally draining for fight camps. There is no indication of that here. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. Even at the weigh-in, Broner directed his anger toward Showtime analyst Al Bernstein instead of Pacquiao.
There is definitely a calm before the storm vibe. I have a feeling all of the energy that has been suppressed this week is going to manifest into an exciting fight full of fireworks. I expect both fighters to look their best at the weigh-in today and leave it all in the ring on fight night.st hours before the weigh-in at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and both Manny Pacquiao and Adrien Broner are in their respective suites waiting to make their way to the MGM Grand Garden Arena to get on the scale in advance of Saturday’s Showtime Pay-Per-View world championship fight. Last night Pacquiao and Broner had their final training sessions to shed any excess weight going into Friday’s weigh-in. All of the real work is done. Now it’s just about remaining active, shaking out and staying relaxed.
Pacquiao went to the UNLV track to run a couple of miles and do some abdominal work late afternoon in his final training session. Pacquiao was all smiles as he did laps with his team. Buboy Fernandez and Justin Fortune were also enjoying themselves and having a few laughs as Showtime’s All Access crew were in tow capturing the moment. The eight-division 11-time world champion was singing and laughing while doing his abs and signing gloves for a fan.
